Okuma has always held the belief that "to manufacture with the best machine tools on the market, you have to be well trained on this technology." This belief, coupled with our commitment to technical education, has brought about our partnership with York Technical College. In a joint effort, Okuma and York Technical College, Rock Hill, South Carolina, have created the Institute for Manufacturing Productivity, located on the York Technical College campus. Through the institute, students have an opportunity to train on the latest technology Okuma machines, while the college offers Okuma distributors and customers a world-class facility to receive hands-on training in high technology machining practices using Okuma machining centers, lathes and grinders.
