Our Okuma patented Parallel Kinematic Machine (PKM) is clearly the machine for cylinder head surface and port machining. The PM-600 embodies 5-axis machining with superior rigidity, flexibility, acceleration, and contouring capabilities – perfectly suited for a NASCAR cylinder head square transitioned to round intake and exhaust ports. The ball screw controlled head with 30° axial movement does all the contouring work needed for the ports. Single mount set-up on a 360° rotating table is key for accuracy and repeatability.
