As the primary sponsor of the Bill Miller Engineering NHRA racing team, Okuma is working closely with some of the top engineers in motorsports to refine machining techniques and processes in the production of high performance racing engine components.

Bill Miller Engineering not only partners with Okuma on the track but off the track as well. BME produces rods and pistons for the top teams in the NHRA, NASCAR and other racing circuits. By using the Okuma machines and in particular the Okuma LU300V8 CAM lathe and PC-APT CAM L software BME is able to produce competition pistons which are producing winning teams each and every week. The proper machining of pistons requires a blend of conventional turning and elliptical diameter surface development. The combination of a stable platform, four-axis turning and superior programming provides precision control of the metal cutting process to result in a superior product.
