Okuma single spindle two-axis VR Series vertical turning lathes are compact, high performance machines with a small footprint that enables them to fit into any shop floor layout. The tall Z-axis column takes advantage of unused overhead space, and more efficiently directs heat from the cutting operation up and away from the workpiece. Box way construction provides exceptional rigidity for high accuracy parts production. The large spindle with rugged bearing construction facilitates heavy cutting at high RPM. The unique slanted headstock casting permits unobstructed chip flow. The coolant flushing system built into the headstock wall provides a continuous flow around the spindle eliminating chip build up near the spindle assembly. A separate pump provides high-pressure coolant to the spindle.
