Our forward-thinking culture and passion for our customers, products, and businesses fosters personal integrity and leading-edge innovation, creating a positive impact on the world.

So if you’re interested in working side-by-side with professionals who are committed to our vision and EVP, and who inspire, encourage, and mentor, then Okuma’s probably a perfect fit for you. As you consider your next career move, we hope you'll consider the many other advantages that we have to offer:

Competitive Benefits:  At Okuma, we offer a generous benefits package. This is evident in our structured bonuses and the rare inclusion of a pension plan. Our additional benefits include comprehensive health insurance (dental and vision included), company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursements for gym memberships, wellness programs, tuition reimbursements, and a strong focus on work-life balance with PTO, parental leave, paid holidays, and flexible scheduling.

Learning and Development Opportunities: At our company, we are deeply committed to fostering career development and growth for all our employees. We believe that continuous learning and professional advancement are key to both individual and organizational success. To support this vision, we have added a Talent Development Partner to our HR team, ensuring that our team has access to top-tier training programs, mentorship opportunities, and resources tailored to their unique career paths. This collaboration empowers our employees to enhance their skills, achieve their career goals, and contribute meaningfully to our company's mission. Together, we are building a culture of excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning.

Apprenticeship Program: Okuma’s Apprenticeship Program, which runs every even year, is designed to proactively train workers who eventually join the ranks as Okuma employees. This program provides a fast-track to a rewarding career path, plus it provides Okuma with a steady stream of well-qualified talent to help support the needs of our customers. Apprentices spend their first six months in a classroom-style learning environment at the Okuma Machine Tool Academy at the Rowan-Cabarrus Advanced Technology Center in Kannapolis, NC. After that, students receive hands-on training with the topics they learned about in class. Interested candidates should simply click on the Open Positions icon above.

Manufacturing Day: Manufacturing Day is an annual event sponsored by the National Association of Manufacturing and the Manufacturing Institute to educate and inspire the next generation of manufacturers. This event helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies, like Okuma, to open their doors to students, parents, teachers, and community leaders. Okuma has been hosting Manufacturing Day events for many years to showcase the diverse career opportunities available in the manufacturing industry and to connect with America’s future workforce—students. This commitment to mentoring and development is part of Okuma’s belief system, and honoring Manufacturing Day is just one small way we exhibit these beliefs by showcasing latest technologies, operations and professions within the metal cutting discipline.
