About Rowan-Cabarrus Community College
Rowan-Cabarrus’ state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Center (ATC) not only supports an ideal corporate technical training environment, but also provides an aesthetically pleasing and interactive learning atmosphere. Opened in 2019, the ATC facility is over 53,000 square feet, and the Flex Lab is equipped with overhead utilities to support flexible machine layouts. Classrooms are all equipped with AirMedia presentation packages, 10GB Wi-Fi, comfortable seating and tables, and access to collaboration spaces and student lounges.
Other manufacturing-related programs located in the ATC provide interaction and possible integration with other industry disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering; mechatronics, robotics, additive manufacturing, plastic injection molding and IIoT/Industry 4.0 cyber-physical security.
The ATC is located on the North Carolina Research Campus in Downtown Kannapolis, NC—less than 30 minutes from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and 42 miles from Okuma America’s Charlotte headquarters. Downtown Kannapolis provides an all-in-one experience for visiting students where they can dine, recreate, and stay (future hotel 2022) within walking distance of the ATC.
