Okuma Machine Tool Academy

AT ROWAN-CABARRUS COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Okuma America has partnered with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College to provide OEM training for our products and technologies at the Rowan-Cabarrus Advanced Technology Center in Kannapolis, NC.

This program's purpose is to provide educational opportunities to our distributors and customers on a variety of skills, from legacy machines and controls to the newest technology.

If you’re going to manufacture with the best machine tools on the market, your employees must be well-trained on the technology. From small job shops to large companies like GE Aerospace, John Deere, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Harley Davidson, and Nissan, every student has the same goal: to become as efficient as possible on an Okuma machine.

What our students are saying...

  • Coming into the introductory electrical class, there were some things I knew already, but I was able to find the missing knowledge to polish up my skill sets. I wish I had this class 5 years ago! Highly recommend.
  • The building, machines, simulators, and campus as a whole were very impressive. You couldn’t ask for a better setup to learn and become more familiar with the machines.
  • The facilities and equipment are up-to-date and well-maintained. The simulators and machines on the floor helped put what we were being taught into practice.
  • The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and understanding of each individual’s capacity to learn.
  • The instructor was very knowledgeable and patient with the students. He seemed passionate about our profession and provided excellent material for gaining understanding.
  • All classrooms and labs were on point with what I hoped for in gaining knowledge and information for new machines in our facility.
  • It's a very nice clean campus, close to hotels and restaurants. The shop area had 3 modern machines to get your hands on and actually do the job instead of just learning in the classroom.
