Okuma’s Apprenticeship Program runs every year and is designed to proactively train workers who eventually join the ranks as Okuma employees. This program provides a fast track to a rewarding career path, plus it provides Okuma with a steady stream of well-qualified talent to help support the needs of our customers. Apprentices spend their first six months in a classroom-style learning environment at the Okuma Machine Tool Academy at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s Advanced Technology Center in Kannapolis, NC. Okuma hosts Manufacturing Day events to showcase the diverse career opportunities available in the manufacturing industry and to connect with America’s future workforce — students.
