Horizontal Machining Center Cuts a Model Car (Video)
05.14.2015
An Okuma MB-4000H horizontal machining center put on a great show at the Morris Madness event (at Morris Midwest) in March. Watch this video and you can see the demonstration, cutting a replica model car based on the car design of the #33 Okuma/RCR NASCAR driven by Cale Conley in 2014. The cars were cut from aluminum block in two operations with a cycle time of approximately one hour. Various members of Partners in THINC contributed, with the program done with Mastercam, cut with ISCAR tooling, featuring a SpinJet that performs finishing with high-pressure coolant from MP Systems – very impressive!

The engraved model cars were a much-sought-after giveaway for a few lucky winners at the event. By the way, if you want to cut some model cars in your shop (or perhaps even some parts), the MB-4000H is a part of Okuma’s Affordable Excellence program, so it could be more affordable than you think.
We offer a variety of ways for you to stay informed about our events, and to receive general Okuma updates. Fill out the form below to let us know the type of information you'd like to receive.
