Improved Coolant Tank Design for GENOS L3000

3d cad drawing of lathe coolant tank

The coolant tank for the GENOS L3000 is now removable from the machine (previous GENOS L models used a built-in coolant tank that was not removable). GENOS L2000/L3000 models offer a side or rear discharge conveyor setup, each with a removable coolant tank. The conveyor sits above the coolant tank in the casting of the machine. This allows for removal of the conveyor or coolant tank separately for easy maintenance and cleaning.

Removing and cleaning the coolant tank on your Okuma machine should be part of routine preventive maintenance. Removing tramp oil and solids from the coolant tank provides many benefits to the end user. A few of these are listed below:

  • Improved tool life
  • Improved part quality
  • Decrease in wear and tear on the machine tool
  • Less risk of bacteria forming in the coolant tank
