Bridging the Skills Gap: Tips for CAM Users
07.15.2014
One of the best ways to bridge the skills gap is to ensure that skilled workers who are already in place are using the latest technology enhancements. To speed users along this path, Delcam (a member of Partners in THINC) recently unveiled a new series of YouTube videos that provide handy tips and tricks for its PowerMILL and FeatureCAM CAM systems. These how-to videos will make you a Delcam “power user” and streamline your process of taking designs from the concept stage into highly efficient production.
New PowerMILL Videos
Delcam’s new PowerMill video playlist demonstrates a variety of machining methods for items including cavities, open pockets, side walls and upstands. Users can also learn how to apply parameters from one toolpath to other toolpaths.
New FeatureCAM Videos
Check out Delcam’s FeatureCAM video playlist and see:
• Two examples of the use of Vortex, Delcam’s award-winning area-clearance strategy (one in a milling example and one in a turn-mill project)
• Other demonstrations show: how to use stock models in 2.5D machining; a comparison of automatic and interactive feature recognition; selection of features by color or type; parametric surface machining; and programming from 2D DXF data
