Straight from the Heart

It was February of 2013, and Okuma’s Ted Driggs was watching ANOTHER Super Bowl that didn’t involve his beloved Cleveland Browns. But all was not lost! While enjoying the commercials he was startled when one grabbed him right in the heart. Ram Trucks did a spot that paid tribute to America’s farmers and Paul Harvey’s classic speech “So God Made a Farmer.” As Ted watched and listened to the words, he began to realize…this could just as easily be about manufacturers! Thus inspired, Ted penned his “homage” to the subject, which you can see here in this video.

Touching Many Hearts

Recently Okuma published this video in the blog post “So God Made Manufacturing.” Read the comments below this post and you’ll see, Ted touched the hearts of many. It evoked memories of generations of family, working in manufacturing with a passion that is passed from father to child to grandchild. Thanks Ted, for inspiring us all with this tribute to manufacturing.
