OSP Video Library

Okuma's open-architecture OSP-P CNC control is a highly reliable, easy-to-use system capable of integration with new generations of software and hardware technology. To share all of the features and benefits of the control and how it can support your business goals, we have created this collection of videos.

OPEN ARCHITECTURE

Okuma’s open-architecture control system provides a platform for customization and ongoing upgrades.

Okuma’s OSP controls bring a dynamic process-based user interface that maximizes user productivity, improves quality, reduces cost, and opens doors to leading-edge technologies with an open architecture platform. Unlike closed CNC controls, our open-architecture control system provides a platform for customization and ongoing upgrades. You can download free third-party apps from www.myokuma.com, add shortcuts to your own preferred apps, or even write your own app. All Okuma CNC controls include the Application Program Interface or API – that allows full read/write access to over 6,000 machine data points. OSP SUITE

Okuma’s OSP suite innovatively combines helpful process improvement functions with eye catching monitoring capabilities, ensuring robust operation and intelligent control of your CNC machine.

Okuma OSP suite is the newest generation of Okuma’s Intelligent Technology, leading the way in the age of digital manufacturing. Centered on intelligent technologies, OSP suite provides users with a pleasing operating interface, a customizable layout, and easy-to-use applications at your fingertips. By designing a more efficient set-up and monitoring process, OSP suite achieves shorter cycle times, improved lead times, and enhanced productivity, while simultaneously realizing optimum machining conditions. ECO SUITE

ECO suite is a next-generation system that saves energy by reducing the power consumption during both machine operating and waiting times.

ECO Idling Stop carefully stops peripheral equipment, and the benefits increase with longer machining preparation times. The result is dramatically decreased power consumption when the machine tool is not cutting, and power can even be reduced while cutting with the optional ECO Hydraulics. When using the optional ECO Operation feature, peripheral equipment will only run when needed, and only for the duration required. This means that equipment, such as chip conveyors and mist collectors, are automatically stopped after cutting is finished. Watch the video>>

FLAT TURNING

With Flat Turning, flat edges are produced directly on the lathe in a single process using polygon cutters. The part and cutter head turn in the same direction. Watch the video>>

3D MANUAL FEED

3D manual operation allows the user to follow the tool axis direction with the rotary axes. Commonly used with Tool Center Point Control. You can jog and pulse feed with this function. Watch the video>>

A-B TURRET SYNCHRONOUS FUNCTION

A-B Turret Synchronous Function makes it possible to simultaneously perform target machining with saddles A and B. Watch the video>>

MID-AUTO MANUAL

Mid-Auto Manual allows manual interruption during automatic operation. Automatic operation is started from the last programmed point Watch the video>>

TURRET PULSE HANDLE

With Turret Pulse Handle you can manually pulse jog the turret using the thumb wheel to check clearance issues. Watch the video>>
