VERICUT Joins Partners in THINC

Please join us in welcoming CGTech and their product VERICUT® as a member of Partners in THINC. CGTech is a leading developer of CNC software specializing in simulations, verification, optimization and analysis technology for the manufacturing industry. VERICUT software is used to simulate CNC machining in order to detect errors, potential collisions, or areas of inefficiency. VERICUT enables NC programmers to correct errors before the program is ever loaded on the CNC machine, thereby eliminating manual prove-outs. VERICUT also optimizes NC program cutting speeds for more efficient machining.

VERICUT Software, for CNC Machine Simulation

VERICUT software simulates CNC machining so you can be more efficient, more competitive, and more profitable. A machine crash can be very expensive, potentially ruin the machine, and delay your entire manufacturing schedule. But with VERICUT, you can dramatically reduce the chance for error and avoid wasting valuable production time proving out new programs on the machine. CNC Machine Simulation detects collisions and near-misses between all machine tool components such as axis slides, heads, turrets, rotary tables, spindles, tool changers, fixtures, work pieces, cutting tools, and other user-defined objects. You can set up ‘near-miss zones” around the components to check for close calls, and even detect over-travel errors.

Brief Overview of VERICUT Functionality

The VERICUT user interface is a very flexible environment that simulates all CNC machine tools, including those from Okuma. VERICUT runs standalone, but can also be integrated with CAD/CAM interfaces including Delcam, Edgecam, ESPRIT, and GibbsCAM. The NC code is processed in exactly the same way as on the CNC control, so virtual machining exactly mimics real machining. During simulation, an accurate in-process model is created, and this model can be inspected and analyzed. VERICUT allows you to closely examine a specified section of the NC code where a potential problem might exist. Click on a message in a logger window and you will automatically jump to the point in the NC code that caused the message to display. All errors are highlighted in red and recorded in the error log. Additionally, the in-process model can be dynamically sectioned to assist in model inspection. For a more detailed review of VERICUT functionality, view their demonstration video.
