How to Create Notifications and Warnings

Imagine you’re driving along in your car and suddenly you notice a “Change Oil” or “Low Tire Pressure” light glaring from your dashboard. Do you ignore it? Usually not. After all, this is your car, a big investment. Plus you depend on having your transportation. How about when you’re “driving” your machine tool? This might cost 10 times as much as your car, and you probably depend on it for your livelihood. Wouldn’t it be great if your machine tool could tell you when it needs maintenance on important functions you want to know about? With your Okuma, it can! With the OSP control you can create “Notifications or Warnings” based on what you want to have checked, and when you want to check them.

Get Notified

Here are just a couple examples of notifications or warnings you can create:

Do you want to have the Coolant quality checked after so many spindle run hours?

How about making sure the air filters are cleaned after 160 hours of machine power on time?

Need the way covers cleaned during dry machining after an hour of axis movement?

You decide what’s important to your operation.

How to Customize Maintenance Parameters

The User Maintenance parameter screen has an entire section you can customize. Here’s what it looks like:
